Altered Mason Jar with Burlap and 3 Girl JAM Crinkle Ribbon

Hi Friends! I'm back with another 3 Girl JAM DT project...you can also check out the post HERE on the 3GJ blog. I have a fun and easy altered project to share with all of you using some of the FAB 3GJ Crinkle Ribbon .

I also have a video that shows you the project up close along with the crinkle ribbons I used on this project....

I made this for one of my sisters-in-law as a thank you gift for having us over for Easter dinner on Sunday. She loved it!!

I forgot to get a pic of Shelley with the jar when I gave it to her but she really loved it and said this was totally her style. Funny thing is that this jar was hers originally, she made us some homemade pickles for Christmas and this was the jar...haha. Just goes to show that you can use the 3GJ Crinkle Ribbon on home decor & gift items and altered projects as well : )

Scor-pal and May Arts Blog Hop: Chic Grunge Paper Cones

Hi Friends! Wow am I so excited for today's post. We the DT a Scor-pal have teamed up with May Arts and their amazing DT for a super fun two day blog hop!! You should have just come from Jen's blog...if not click on her name so you can start from the beginning : )

For my tutorial I made some Chic Grunge paper cones....

To create these Chic Grunge paper cones I used:

Scor-pal

Scor-tape

May Arts Ribbons-Trims & Laces

To make the paper cones, I cut the card stock I wanted to use for each cone into 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 pieces...

I used some sprays & mists on my card stock which is why it's curled up a bit. 

Next I placed the card stock on my Scor-pal on the diagonal and made a score mark down the center....

Then I measured 4" on each side of that score mark and drew a line using a pencil. This step creates the "flap" for your pocket front. 

Place the card stock back on your Scor-pal and score on your pencil-marked line.

Now it's time to create the score marks for the sides of the paper cone. Placing your card stock on your Scor-pal, you're going to score from the top right edge of your flap to the bottom point of your paper. You'll do this on each side of your initial score line. 

Fold along your score lines once you're done...

I wanted to cover the white flap so I adhered some Scor-tape to the flap and put a piece of the card stock I trimmed off earlier over the top and use my craft knife to cut away the excess.

I used more Scor-tape to close the flaps to create the paper cone...

The next few photos show you how I used the Scor-tape to embelish the paper cones using the May Arts ribbons & trims...

Mothers Day Tea Cups

Hi Friends! This is Abby with ScrappinAbby and I am thrilled to be sharing another Scor-pal project with you using the gorgeous Diane & Lexington paper collections from SEI!

I knew right away what I wanted to create once I saw the beautiful floral papers in the two collections I received, Mothers Day Tea Cups. I have 4 Sisters-in-Law so I made one cup for each of them and one for my Mother-in-Law which I'll give to them at our Mothers Day brunch.

For the basic construction of the cups, I cut my selected card stock to 9 x 5 1/2

Then I scored each piece of paper at the 1" mark until I reached 8"

After rotating the paper, I made one last score at 1 1/4"

Next I made a small cut up to the 1 1/4" score line for each of the 1" score marks I made at the beginning. I also cut off the last 1" tab that's left and made a flap by cutting off the corners of the last 1" strip

Here's a video I made that walks you through this step as well as the construction of the handle. The cup portion is at the 3:32 mark and the handle is at 12:16 : )

Next I applied some Scor-tape to the flap

I used the 1/8" Scor-tape for the flaps on the bottom side of the cup

You'll do this step on 4 of your flaps and fold them down accordingly

For the handle I used a doily die with the same card stock I used for the cup

The next few photos show you how I cut the handle portion, adhered it together and attached it to the cup

I wanted to add an additional decorative element to the cup so I used more Scor-tape around the base and added some Lavish Lace trims

For the last construction step I used the 1" & 1/4" Scor-tape to adhere the cup to the "saucer" I made with another die cut doily from the paper and some chipboard

I used a variety of flowers, laces and pearl trims to embellish the cups and personalize them a bit. Here's one last photo before I added all of those items
