Mothers Day Tea Cups

Hi Friends! This is Abby with ScrappinAbby and I am thrilled to be sharing another Scor-pal project with you using the gorgeous DianeLexington paper collections from SEI!

I knew right away what I wanted to create once I saw the beautiful floral papers in the two collections I received, Mothers Day Tea Cups. I have 4 Sisters-in-Law so I made one cup for each of them and one for my Mother-in-Law which I'll give to them at our Mothers Day brunch.

Products used:
Doily Die
Pearl trim
Tulle
Lace
Flowers
Additional embellishments-Please see complete list at the end of this post

For the basic construction of the cups, I cut my selected card stock to 9 x 5 1/2

Then I scored each piece of paper at the 1" mark until I reached 8"
After rotating the paper, I made one last score at 1 1/4"
Next I made a small cut up to the 1 1/4" score line for each of the 1" score marks I made at the beginning. I also cut off the last 1" tab that's left and made a flap by cutting off the corners of the last 1" strip
Here's a video I made that walks you through this step as well as the construction of the handle. The cup portion is at the 3:32 mark and the handle is at 12:16 : )

Next I applied some Scor-tape to the flap
I used the 1/8" Scor-tape for the flaps on the bottom side of the cup
You'll do this step on 4 of your flaps and fold them down accordingly
For the handle I used a doily die with the same card stock I used for the cup
The next few photos show you how I cut the handle portion, adhered it together and attached it to the cup
I wanted to add an additional decorative element to the cup so I used more Scor-tape around the base and added some Lavish Lace trims
For the last construction step I used the 1" & 1/4" Scor-tape to adhere the cup to the "saucer" I made with another die cut doily from the paper and some chipboard
I used a variety of flowers, laces and pearl trims to embellish the cups and personalize them a bit. Here's one last photo before I added all of those items
And here are a few additional photos of the completed Tea Cups
There are some amazing prizes up for grabs from both SEI and Scor-pal so you'll want to be sure and check out the Scor-pal blog for all the details.

I hope my project has inspired you to pull our your Scor-pal and Scor-tape so you can work with some of the gorgeous papers from SEI and create your own dimensional projects that you can use as gifts or to keep for yourself.  Thanks for stopping and checking out another scrappy post and another Scor-pal DT Project!!

Name Board & Altered Item Giveaway Reminder!!

Hi Friends! I'm doing a quick post (and I say quick as I have a mountain of DT deadlines staring at me..aghh) to share with you another name board that I made for a customer. I made one for her baby shower and she liked it so much (YAY) that she asked me to make another one for her other son.

I also have a quick video for you as well showing the name board up close and sharing with you what products I used as well. You can check it out here...

I have to deliver this tomorrow so I wanted to get a post done real quick along with the video just to document another project.

Here are some photos of each panel...

I also wanted to remind you all about the Altered Item Giveaway I have going right now. The giveaway ends on May 7th at Midnight PST. I'll be doing the two random draws on camera on May 8th in the evening when I get home from work. I have a couple of videos up on my YouTube Channel but I'll also post them again below.

In this video I show you some of my previous altered items along with the idea of having a giveaway which I came up with while doing the video...lol...

This video shows you all of the goodies I'm giving away to two lucky winners : )

Altered Item Giveaway!!

Hi Friends!! Yesterday I posted a video on my YouTube Channel and during the recording I decided to do not one but TWO giveaways in response to what I was sharing with all of you.

I love to alter items and turn them into something crafty so I thought what better way to....

A.See what others have altered and crafted up
B.Gain some new followers/subscribers
C.Make some new online friends
D.Giveaway some of the crafty goodies I have & craft it forward

So here are the details....

1.Do a Video Response to my Altered Item & Crafty Giveaway video that I posted on my YouTube Channel (I'll insert the video in this post as well). If you don't have the capability to do a Video Response, you can do a blog post and email me so I can check out your project : )

2.Become a subscriber to my YouTube Channel (make sure you leave me a comment so I know you did this)

3.Become a follower on my blog (make sure you leave me a comment here on my blog so I know you are a new follower)

I will be putting your name into the drawing each time you do one of the above 3 items so you'll have a total of 3 chances to win one of the two boxes of crafty goodies I have up for grabs. I mentioned this in the videos, but if you are currently a follower and you want in on the giveaway, just send me an email letting me know this or just leave a comment on this post telling me that you want to be entered into the giveaway. To be fair though to those posting videos & sharing what they've altered, please make sure you either do a video as well or do a blog post if you don't have the capability to do a video : )

Now that I've written a short novel..lol...here are the two videos regarding the giveaway......

Spring Green Bucket of Flowers

Hi Friends! It's a beautiful sunny day here in the Willamette Valley in Oregon so I thought what better project to share than another Spring bucket of flowers.

These were designed & created for the online Crafting Ireland publication as a DT project. These were featured on the Crafting Ireland blog and you can see the tutorial on how I created these HERE. I also had two other projects for Issue 16 that were featured in the online magazine, you can check those out HERE.

I'll also be doing a video on these flowers & I'll add it to this post once I get it uploaded to my YouTube Channel. So the rest of this post will just be some additional photos of this project. I've been a paper flower cuttin girl lately with these flower buckets..lol.

And here's a picture of them on my desk at work...

I've been busy working on some DT projects that I can't share quite yet but keep your eyes out as I'll be sharing them on my personal blog as well as my YouTube channel once they're up on the DT blogs.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out another scrappy post. If you haven't subscribed to my YouTube Channel please do...I've been posting lots of videos over there lately and I'll also be having a giveaway of some sort in the near future.

Happy Crafting!!

May Arts New Release Spring Challenge Project

Hi Friends! Today I'm super excited to share my project I made for the May Arts New Release Spring Challenge! You can see the post that went up on the MA blog on Monday HERE. How the challenges work is that Bethney announces the theme for the challenge, you submit your idea to her and your selection of the amazing ribbons/trims/laces she is offering up for the challenge and if she likes your idea you get to play along. Well I was lucky enough to get to participate in another one of her challenges (insert big cheesy grin here..lol).

So now let me share with you my Spring Bucket of Flowers...

I also have a short video that shows the project up close and shows you the ribbons I chose to work with....

Here are some additional photos........
I just love how this project turned out. Using the amazing ribbons and trims from May Arts makes any project you create look awesome. I've been a long time fan-addict (lol) of May Arts ribbon and I was so very honored that Bethney liked my idea and chose to have me participate in this super fun challenge.

Be sure to check out all of the other amazing entries from the other participants at the May Arts Blog.

Thanks for stopping by and for checking out another scrappy post.
