Hi Friends! Just a quick post to share with you how my family totally spoiled me this Mother's Day : )
I did a short video showing you the items up close along with the background story on why this Mother's Day was extra special for me.....
This is my gorgeous daughter Kaley, she was goofing around at Michaels. My son couldn't join us as he had to work but Kaley and my hubby took me shopping :)
And this was my breakfast for dinner....it's a ton of food...don't judge...lol My most favorite thing of the day though was when we took family photos in the morning. I didn't have them ready in time for this post but I will share them soon. With my son graduating high school and joining the Air Force, I was a little sad this year knowing it was his last "official" Mother's Day at home. We won't know where he will be this time next year but I will always have the special family photo we took to remember when he was still living at home.
I love my family and I am beyond blessed with being their mom.
I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day as well.
Hi Friends! I am really excited to share my first official project as a new member of the Linnie Blooms Design Team!!!
I had so much fun playing with some of the canvas pieces and I came up with a creative & decorative way to not only store my pieces but to organize them as well.
I recycled some vegetable cans and created these sweet containers that I decorated with some of the very same canvas pieces these will store. I also have a video to share with you that shows you the project up close along with the Linnie Bloom items I used....
Let me share with you the fun techniques I used on the canvas pieces...
For the flower, I used a script background stamp to create some texture and visual interest.
Next I used some sprays to give it some color and used my distress tool to fray the edges to give it a shabby chic look...
I did the same technique for the leaf pieces but used a different background stamp...
For the butterfly I stamped an actual butterfly image on the canvas piece then used some distress ink to give it some color....
I wanted to have the illusion that the butterfly had just flown into my craft room and landed on the vine so I taped the wire I had left from when I cut my flowers to the backside of the butterfly so I could bend it as if it was in motion....
For the bird I used some embossing powder for added texture and shimmer....
Lastly, I used the same treatment on all the banner pieces that I attached to each altered can....
Here are a few more photos of the completed altered cans....
And here's how they look on my shabby chic vintage hutch....
Be sure to check out all of the fabulous Linnie Blooms Products available so you can use them in your crafting projects as well.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today & for checking out another ScrappinAbby project. Be sure to visit the Linnie Blooms Blog so you can see additional photos of the altered cans.
Happy Crafting and I am SO happy to be a part of the Linnie Blooms Design Team and share some crafty & creative projects with all of you.
Hi Friends! I was going through some photos and realized that I never did an actual post for a mini album I made using the cover of a vintage book...Gasp!! I did a video but no post...so that's what today is all about.
I took an old book cover and turned it into a mini album by creating some pages on the inside with some paper bags and using the Stack The Deck binding system by Laura Denison.
Here's the video I have that shows you the album up close....
Here are a few photos of my favorite pages within the album...
I have to say that out of all the albums & mini's I've designed & created...this one in particular is one of my most favorite. It combines the use and altering of a vintage book and creating the pages myself along with adding vintage & shabby touches throughout the pages. I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for letting me share this altered vintage book with you. Happy Crafting : )
Hi Friends! Today I have a super fun & easy tag project to share with all of you. I'm calling it my Sweet Teen Tag as I made it for my 14 year old daughter. I used some of the NEW FAB Tye Dye 2 Bundle of crinkle ribbon that Julie has come up with.
This is what the new Tye Dye Bundle 2 looks like....love love this new ribbon bundle...
I also have a short video that shows you the tag up close along with the other 3GJ goodies I used...
Here are some additional pics of this tag...
I absolutely love how this tag turned out. The new Tye Dye Bundle 2 ribbons match perfectly with the Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic collection I used plus these are my daughters most favorite colors so I see lots more projects in the future using this new bundle.
Be sure to head on over to the 3 Girl JAM Store and pick up some of the new bundles for yourself. Trust me...you will LOVE these new colors as all of us on the DT have.
