Live Life In Full Color Mini

Hi Friends,

Today I'll be sharing another DT project with Scor-pal...you can check out the full post that was featured on the Scor-pal blog HERE . My project is the second one in the post so keep scrolling once you get there : )

We had a cross promotion week with Simple Stories and I LOVE the paper collection I was given to play with...Sn@p Life! I knew right away I wanted to make something for my 13 yr old daughter Kaley so I came up with my version of a smash journal for her. The colors were just perfect and are some of her favorites.

See how vibrant & bright this collection is??? Love it!! I made this mini/journal from nothing but the papers that are in the collection. When we're so graciously sponsered by these amazing companies I want to make sure I use as much of their product as I can...it's a fun challenge : )

I made a pocket on the top and side of the front cover so Kaley would have extra space to journal and put photos.

Lots of textures & layers in this mini...which is something I love to do in my projects.

This is a FAB collection to use for a teen...I know for my daughter the sentiments & colors were just perfect. She truly is energetic and lives life to the fullest and in color!! I'll be posting a video of this mini on my YouTube channel and I'll post a link back at my blog as well, so be sure to check back for this later this weekend : )

Make sure you check out this new collection from Simple Stories.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out another scrappy post : )

Sassy w/Sassy Moments-Guest Designer at 3GJ!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I'm super excited about today's post. I'm a proud DT member of 3 Girl Jam (3GJ) and today my friend Sassy with Sassy Moments is our Guest Designer.

When Julie (owner of 3GJ) asked us to choose a Guest DT it seriously took me all of 2 seconds to know who I was going to select...Sassy!! She and I first met when we were DT sisters for another Team about a year and half ago and we have really become good friends in the past 8+ months. We chat most everyday and I LOVE IT!! She encourages me in my crafting and helps support and promote me with my crafting goals, she has a HUGE heart and I see her encouraging others online as well. She has been in the Top 10 with May Arts for more of their challenges than I can name off right now and she just simply ROCKS!!! These are just a few of the reasons I chose Sassy as my Guest DT.

Please make sure you go check out her amazing & UBER creative project that she created using some of the yummy 3GJ crinkle ribbon over at the 3 Girl Jam Blog by clicking HERE.

I'm Still Here and A Bird House Project!!

Hey everyone...sorry it's been awhile since my last post. My Henderson family suffered a loss this past Sunday, my father-in-law passed away after a long battle with cancer. We've spent a lot of the past few weeks visiting him after work and on the weekends so I haven't been home to craft. The service is tomorrow so if you wouldn't mind throwing up a prayer for my Henderson family and most importantly my mother-in-law, it would be much appreciated : )

I wanted to get online and do a quick post. To be honest I need the distraction right now and being a crafty place and mindset is what I need right now.

Today I wanted to share a project that I made for a co-worker and his family for their Christmas present. This was also my DT project for 3 Girl Jam, you can see the post on their blog HERE

This started off as a "naked" bird house from Kaiser Craft....
I thought I took a picture of this before I started but I can't find one so this is one I grabbed off Google...but I think you can get the general idea of how this looked before I scrapped it up : )

I made two of the flowers above using some of they FAB crinkle ribbon from 3GJ. The larger flower is from Petaloo and the leaves are cut from Websters Pages, "Your Life Beautiful" collection. Which is also the paper I used on this project.

More of the yummy crinkle ribbon...this is Halloween Harvest...one of my faves. I used some Glossy Accents on the birdies to make them pop a bit and added some stickles in Copper.

The branch & bird is from the Tim Holtz Bird & Branch die. I inked the branch and added some more stickles on the leaves. For the bird I used some distress embossing powder in Shabby White. Topped it off with some more of the 3GJ crinkle ribbon and a Petaloo flower. Love how this turned out : )

Here's a closer look at the flower cluster. You can probably tell that I love using the crinkle ribbon from 3GJ since I make and use these flowers on a lot of my projects. I just love how versatile it is and Julie does a FAB job of creating such wonderful colors.

Well...that's all I had for today. Thanks for stopping by and checking out another scrappy post.

I plan to get back to my regular posting this weekend after everything from the funeral is over. It's been a difficult week for sure for our family and I do appreciate the kind words and prayers from those that I've heard from through Facebook and by email and text. It truly means a lot.

Happy Crafting : )

Happy New Year & Banner Too : )

Happy New Year my crafty friends!! Wow I can't believe it's 2013...the holiday season just seemed to fly by for me. I was sick for most of it but I was still able to spend time with my family and create some wonderful memories.

I haven't posted in a bit due to being sick for over a week but I will be catching up now that I am feeling much better : ) On my last post I gave you a sneek peek of my holiday DT project for Scor-pal well I had planned on doing this post over a week ago but as I mentioned I was sick so better late than never right?? Even though this is a holiday project I still want to share it with all of you. You can create this banner and make it for whatever holiday you want or just simply have it designed to fit the decor of your home.

I used the Home For Christmas collection from Fancy Pants..we were doing a cross promotion with them and let me tell you...I LOVE this collection. I have some left over from this project and I plan on using it for some holiday projects next year. There are even some papers that would work with non-Christmas projects too..love that.

I did the tutorial for this on the Scor-pal blog during the promotion week..you can check out how I made this HERE. I'll just be sharing pics for the remainder of this post since you can check out the tutorial over on the Scor-pal blog.

Here's a photo of the banner after I put my family photo back on the wall...

Love this banner and I was sad to put it away with my other Christmas decorations. But I will be making more of these so I can have one or more to display in my home.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your families and that you rang in the New Year surrounded with friends & family.

I believe that 2013 will be an awesome year for me..crafty wise and family wise..can't wait to see what's in store for me.

Be sure to come back for another scrappy post..I'll be doing more catch up posts for some other projects I've recently created.

Happy Craftin!!
