Perfect Sentiments Challenge 08: Anything Goes But You Must CASE Challenge

Hi Scrappers..welcome back for another challenge over at The Perfect Sentiments Challenge Blog.

This weeks challenge is to create a card where "Anything Goes" BUT the twist is that you must CASE one of the cards from someone on the Perfect Sentiments Design Team. CASE means Copy And Steal Everything so when you look at either my card or any of the cards listed from the links below you must create your own card but CASE it.

Here is my card for this weeks challenge....

This is a birthday card I made for a friend of mine who happens to share the same birthday as me...November 2nd. She loves to craft but also loves to sew so I thought this would be the perfect card to design for her.

Here are some closer pics of the card.......

Now normally I give some info on how I designed/created the card but since the challenge is for you to CASE it for yourself...I won't be giving out any hints this week...sorry : )  Now you certainly don't have to select my card to CASE...be sure to look at all of the amazing cards from my fellow DT members below...pick one you like best and CASE it!!

Made Especially For You 's Fifth Weekly Challenge!

Hi Scrappers...it's time again for another weekly challenge over at Made Especially For You.

This week's challenge is as easy as 1, 2, 3! Create a card or scrapbook layout featuring three of something, whether it be three different papers, colors, ribbons, brads, flowers, etc.

Here is my DT member submission & take on this week's challenge..........
This is a LO I created from one of my wedding pictures. I have been married for 2 years now but I am s-l-o-w-l-y working on my wedding album....lol. This picture has a lot of meaning for me. This is my son Tre' who is now 16 and 6'1 and is still growing...I can't believe it!

You can see that I used not only 3 different types of paper but 3 different flowers & embellishments. Now keep in mind you aren't required to do that many different "3's" of something...this is just what I did for my personal album.

This weeks sponsor is the K n' K Digital Designs Stamp Store. They will be giving away your choice of 3...yes 3 different digital stamps..how cool is that? So be sure you stop by their digital store...give them some love & tell them that we at Made Especially For You sent you.

Be sure to check out Made Especially For You weekly challenge blog for some other inspiration from the rest of the Made Especially For You design Team and for all of the information regarding the weekly challenge entry.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back soon for another scrappy post.

Scrappin Abby Is Now At Not Too Shabby : )

Good Morning fellow Scrappers : )  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving & enjoyed some time with your families. I know I ate way too much...sportin some sweat pants today while I work in my craft room.

Remember me telling you about my good friend Mindy opening up her shabby chic~rustic~vintage store in Albany? I posted about it here. Well I am now starting to fill up my little nook with all kinds of scrappy creations which is what today's post is about. So be prepared for a blast of purple...it is after all my fave color and well that's pretty much how I decorated my little area : )

Here's your first glance at Scrappin Abby's nook at Not Too Shabby..........

I share a space with another gal so this is my wall. I don't have a ton of stuff in there yet...I can only create so fast & my poor little fingers are scrappin as quick as they can : )

The next few pics are some closer shots of the items I have for sale so far...
This is my little purple tree that my hubby bought for me...I was going to get a green one but this is what he thought I should have..see he feeds my purple addiction..lol.

These are just some of the things I have so far in my little nook. I have some more scrappy items I am finishing up & some new ones I will be starting today...always have some sort of project going : )

If you live in the Albany area be sure to stop by Not Too Shabby. I was there last night setting up my stuff and there are some gorgeous items for sale in there by the other vendors who are all super talented & have amazing items for sale. Trust me you won't want to miss going in there. Mindy is there today and the store is open from 10-5:30 so you have plenty of time to stop by and pick up some amazing items. When you walk in you will be greeted by this lovely lady.....

And here's the info for the store again....

I will be doing a non-scrappy post tomorrow. I want to share some photos of our amazing Thanksgiving we had with my hubby's side of the family this year. Not all of them live in Oregon but they read my blog (Hi Susan) so I wanted to share the photos I took so they can see them as well.

I hope you all have a great Saturday...I am off to play in my craft room so I know I will : )

Perfect Sentiments Challenge 07: Encourage Me with A Sketch

Hi fellow scrappers...welcome back for another challenge from The Perfect Sentiments Challenge Blog.

This weeks challenge is to create a card with an "Encourage Me" sentiment and the twist is to use this sketch....
We have another awesome sponsor for this weeks challenge...Patti over at Patties Creations Digitial Stamps is giving away one free digi to the lucky winner of this weeks challenge. Be sure to visit her Etsy store and tell her that the Perfect Sentiment Challenge Blog sent you : )

Now here's my take on this weeks challenge......
This is a take on another card I designed for a friend of mine who was recovering from back surgery. I posted about it here.
I created this card from the scallop floral paper you see on the top half of the card. This is from the Little Yellow Bicycle (LYB) Love Letters collection. I have the 12x12 paper pad as well as the 6x6 so the scallop paper was perfect for this challenge. I just cut it in half and put it at the top of the card. I toyed around with how I wanted to display the sentiment and ended up cutting some small basic flowers with my Cricut...inked the edges...the letters & voila!

I added the small black flower with a brad after the word "in" to complete the series of 3 dots in the sketch.

I ran a piece of silver Bazzil cardstock through my TH Vagabond using an embossing folder. I then Stamped the Sweet Friend sentiment on some white Bazzil...distressed the edges & attached it to another piece of black cardstock which I inked with some silver & distressed those edges as well...added another flower & some staples.

Here are a few photos of the inside........
I used a solid 6x6 sheet of the same floral paper and trimmed it down to fit on the inside. After inking & distressing the edges I added this flower I made.
I ran a piece of white tulle through my TH Vagabond using the Tattered Flowers die & then put a fuzzy black brad in the center. I think this card turned out pretty cute don't ya think?

Michaels & JoAnn's Clearance Haul!!

Hi there fellow scrappers : )  I wanted to share some awesome deals I scored at Michaels & JoAnn's. I've been sick with the flu all this week and I am just now starting to feel a little human again so I thought I would take advantage of this and do a quick post I've been meaning to put up all week.

Here is a photo of all the AMAZING scrappy items I scored recently at Michaels & JoAnn's.............

And get this...everything...yes everything was either on sale or on clearance.
All of these lovelies were in the $1 bin at JoAnn's...can never have enough stamps or bling..especially when they are this cheap : )
These were also marked down....I found them in the clearance bin over by the fabric section. I have been wanting to buy some chain for some products and I was super excited when I found these. I of course had to grab the fluer de lis as well...sorta my thing. I am also diggin that large button..can't wait to use that on a scrappy project.
Ok...I am going to come clean & announce for all to read/see etc...that I am a Tim Holtz junkie...there I said it. So when I saw this dress form die on sale...had to scoop it up. It was the last one there and I am pretty sure the lady in the aisle right behind me wasn't too happy about that...something to do with the stink eye she was giving me...hey not my fault she didn't get there before me...lol.
Some more random scrappy goodies :)
I have some plans for all that felt back there...stay tuned for my "merry" projects I will show you later. Lovin the TH blending ink tools. I have a few already...the plan is to get one for each color I have of his ink...gets old taking the pads off each time I want to use a new color. There's this fab vintage carousel I am gonna get later on...will fit perfectly in my shabby/vintage scrapbook room!
Picked up 4 of these paper packs..I only saw them due to this lady down the aisle from me dropping about half of the stuff on the shelf on the floor...they were mixed in with some knitting stuff so had she not made the mess I wouldn't have seen these...can never have enough basic textured cardstock : )
More TH...these babies were marked down to 40% off regular price so I only paid $12.99 for these two packed paper pads of awesome TH paper : )
Ok not sure why this picture flipped but oh well...two more paper pads I found on sale...yay.

I cannot wait until I start feeling better so I can play in my scrapbook room with all of my new goodies.

Be sure to come back for another scrappy post~hopefully I can get some projects done this weekend~

Happy scrappin!

Perfect Sentiments Challenge 06: Stitch It Baby!

Hey Everyone...welcome back for another awesome challenge at The Perfect Sentiments Challenge Blog.

This weeks challenge was to create a card with a baby themed sentiment...here's the twist...you need to use some form of stitching...whether it be faux, hand-stitching, machine stitching. This was a fun challenge that not only fulfilled my sample for this week but also took care of a greeting card I needed to make for some friends who just had a baby recently...perfect!

We have another great sponsor for this weeks challenge...Cindy over at Cindy Coutts Designs is offering a fantastic prize. It's a mini Stampin' Up set called Something For Christmas. Be sure to head on over to her website and tell her The Perfect Sentiment sent you : )

Now on to my interpretation of this weeks challenge.....

I got this idea to twist some purple and green ribbon I had to put on the side of the card. The shimmery purple cardstock you see as the mat base is actually some leftover paper from my wedding invitations 2 years ago.
I've had this purple/green stitched pocket for awhile now and I based the design/color scheme for this card from that. I bought the purple baby tag from my crop last month in Gold Beach..don't remember the name of the company though. I added the small pink baby sentiment just for another color.
I used more of the same ribbon to carry the theme from the front to the inside.
One final photo of my purple Welcome Home Sweet Baby card : )

And now for some additional inspiration from my fellow DT members....

Not Too Shabby's Grand Opening!!!

Hey everyone...I've had the most exciting Saturday & I am really excited to share it with all of you. Today my good friend Mindy opened her shabby chic store...Not Too Shabby & it is FABULOUS!!! I took some pics as I want to help promote this new venture for her. I also have some exciting news that I will announce later in this post...so be sure to watch for it as you look through the photos : )

Let me start off with a photo of Mindy....

She has had this dream of opening up her very own shabby chic~rustic~cottage~vintage~distressed decor store for a very long time and I am so happy and proud that she has finally accomplished this goal. So without further ado..let's get started on our visit to Not Too Shabby..........

That's my friend Andrea trying to get out of the picture...lol.
Mindy trying to get in another pic...lol

Love Love Love this chandelier & ceiling fixture...I am on the hunt for one of these to put in my scrapbook room : )

The future home of ScrappinAbby's Creative Designs...yup that's right...this is my vendor space : ) I was super excited when Mindy asked me to be a vendor in her shop & sell my scrappy stuff that I love to create. I am just beside myself for this new venture in my life. This will be my first "store front" if you will as I mostly sell my items online or locally from my home etc. I of course will post pics once I am "moved in" : )
Dear Santa...I would love to have this hutch ; )
Yay : )

Here are some items I scooped up while I was there....
This vintage metal basket will fit nicely in my shabby chic scrapbook room full of scrappy goodies :)
LOVE this old wooden box with the rusty wire/wood handle.
I also picked up all of this twine/fiber...looks pretty fab in this box don't ya think?

So after looking through all of the photos I just know if you will want to come and check out this awesome new store for yourself. The inventory changes daily so you won't want to miss all of the new shabby goodies that will be there...and don't forget to stop by ScrappinAbby's little nook when you do : )

Here's the info for the store.........

After Andrea & I visited Mindy...we went "junkin" and I scored some really awesome scrappy items & decor (for my nook at Not Too Shabby) which I will post about later. Now I am off to play in my room and get my scrap on ; )

Be sure to come back tomorrow for another scrappy post : )
