Just Because

Hi Friends! I have another 3GJ DT project to share with you. Today I'll be sharing an altered Muslin Bag that I made for a special friend of mine.

I also have a video that shows you the project up close along with the FAB 3GJ products that I used...
3 Girl JAM products you'll see on this project...

5x7 Muslin Bag

Distressed Lace
Caribbean Splash (Aqua Splash)
Spring Flowers Bundle (Daffodil)
Now for the altered muslin bag....
I wanted to create a unique & pretty bag that I'm using for a RAK for a good friend of mine. The muslin bags are so fun to alter and they "play nice" with sprays and other mediums. I created a flower using the Distress lace and added bits of the crinkle ribbon around my flower cluster.

I can't wait to send this to my friend and I'm hoping she will love the bag as much as the goodies that are going inside. If you haven't played with the muslin bags from 3GJ, be sure to head to the 3GJ Shop and pick some up. While you're there be sure to grab some crinkle ribbon and Distress Lace as well.

Do you want to save 10% on your total order??? Of course you do, so make sure you enter Discount Code:AH10 when you check out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project.

Simply Joys

Hi Friends! Today I'll be showing you how I freshened up one of my older projects using the canvas pieces from Linnie Blooms .

This is how it looked before...

This is a mini canvas I made around 7 years ago...I liked it then but I wanted to freshen it up a bit and give it a new look. I have a short video that shows you the project up close along with the Linnie Blooms products I used...

I used one of the tree canvas pieces as one of my background elements. I gave it some texture by using a script background stamp and used the Green Tea Gelato....

We were at a local amusement park called The Enchanted Forest, so I thought adding the canvas tree would be fun & fitting.

To have the photo "pop" off the canvas I used one of the Mixed Stitch Canvas pieces as my background for the photo. To add some color, I used more of my Gelatos in Lemon and Bubble Gum.

I think it turned out pretty cute : )

Using the Linnie Bloom Mixed Stitch and canvas pieces is a great way to update one of your older projects or to just simply mix it up a bit.

May Arts 2014-15 DT Final Round Projects~Journal & Note Card Box

Hi Friends! Today's post is all about my projects for the May Arts 2014-15 Final Round DT Call. I am beyond excited and nervous all at the same time BUT I am really excited to share my projects with you that I created using the yummy May Arts Ribbons & Trims.

My original idea that I submitted to Bethney was to create a journal from some vintage paper and chipboard...I ended making not only that but also a note card box that coordinates with the journal.

I also have a video tutorial that shows you how I created the cover of the journal using the Cotton Blend Burlap in Neutral along with a few other elements...

Here are some photos of the completed projects....
I LOVE how the cover looks with the Cotton/Burlap ribbon.

I made a simple but cute bookmark along with some mini tags that can also be used to mark special places within the journal...
For the back cover, I wanted to use the Velvet & Crochet trim as it has such a nice feel to it and I like to feel the texture when I'm holding my journals...

I wanted to create an additional item to go along with this project so I altered a small box and turned it into a note card box that has a stack of the left over pieces of the vintage paper I used in the journal...
I created two flowers using the Lace/Pearl center ribbon and some of purple crochet lace trim...
I wrapped some of the Twisted Burlap Ribbon around the box to give it a rustic sort of feel and look...
And I tied it around the stack of vintage paper on the inside....
I love how these two projects turned out and how well they go together by simply tying in the same ribbons and trims....

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project. I hope I was able to inspire you to use your MA Ribbons/Trims in some fun and different ways for your projects.

I want to give a HUGE thanks to Bethney aka The Ribbon Lady for allowing me the privilege to participate in the Final Round for her DT Call. I had so much fun creating these two projects and you all know how much I LOVE May Arts ribbons and trims so getting to play with them AND be in the final round is beyond amazing. Being on the May Arts Design Team and being a Ribbonista would be such an honor, so keep your fingers and toes crossed for me : )

Nature~Share The Beauty

Hi Friends! Today I have a quick tag project to share with all of you using one of the fabulous feather canvas pieces from Linnie Blooms.

I wanted to add some texture to the canvas feather so I grabbed some Matte Medium and an old dress pattern...

I put a thin coat of the Matte Medium over the canvas feather...

To give it some added texture I scrunched the dress pattern paper when I placed it on top of the feather...

I used my craft knife to cut the paper away from the feather. You can use scissors or even tear it if you wish....

I used my distress tool to add some extra fraying and texture to the edge of the feather...

I wanted to play with some of my alcohol inks and sprays so the next few photos show you how I "painted" my feather once the dress pattern paper was dry....

The last photo above was taken while the feather was drying. I love how it turned out once it was all dry. The inks and sprays crept into the wrinkles on the dress pattern and soaked into the canvas feather and it looks so cool.

This was my first time to play with the canvas feathers and I'm hooked. There are so many ways you can alter the canvas pieces and this is just one example of how you can use your inks and sprays and even some dress patterns to create textures and layers. You can find the feather canvas pieces in the Flutter Canvas Shapes at the Linnie Blooms store.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project. You can also see this post over at the Linnie Blooms blog.

Have a great day and Happy Crafting!!
