Happy Wednesday friends and welcome back for another challenge with The Perfect Sentiment!
This weeks challenge is to create a card with a sympathy sentiment and the twist is to use the inspiration photo I will share with you in just a moment. No one likes to think about the passing away of a loved one or a friend but as we all know this is a part of life we must deal with. I think it means so much and helps your friend or family member when they have a beautiful handmade card to look at that has a personalized note of condolence and kind words for them to look at during their time of grief. This is the thought I keep in mind when I am creating a sympathy card as these are not my favorite cards to make due their purpose.
Now for my card created from the inspiration photo.......
And now the inspiration photo....
Isn't this picture just gorgeous? I mean how could you not be inspired by this beautiful winter scene.
I used the gorgeous papers from the Tradewind Stack by DCWV. I absolutely love the papers in this stack and when I saw the inspiration photo I knew this paper would work perfectly. I stamped the sentiment from a stamp my MIL gave me~thanks Myrna~I love the blues/golds & cream tones in this paper.
To reference the tree in the inspiration photo I used half of a tree cut from the Bloom cartridge by Cricut.
I tied some yummy white satin ribbon in a knot to mimic the white from the snow and frost in the winter scene. I really like how this card turned out.
I cut a thin strip of the blue rose paper for an accent on the bottom. I wanted to leave plenty of room to write some words of encouragement.
Now for some inspiration from my fellow DT & Guest DT members....
