Holiday Mantle
Hey everyone..welcome back for another scrappy post. It snowed here last night..yay. This is quite the occasion for my neck of the woods as we mostly get rain here in my part of Oregon. I'm so hoping we get some more and possibly have some for Christmas : )
My project I'm sharing with you today is one I created for the Scor-pal DT Blog Week with Core'dinations. You can read the post & tutorial HERE.
I have to tell you this was such a fun project to design and create. I've never made such an architectural piece before and it was quite a challenge for me at first, but here's what I came up with........
This is made from nothing but Core'dinations card stock and Scor-tape : )
Some frosted greenery I had layed perfectly over the mantle. I added some vintage jingle bells for a simple holiday touch. The wreath is from a May Arts project...you can see the post on their blog HERE.
I forgot to take a photo but I have this sitting in my built in bookcase next to my real life mantle...it looks so nice displayed there. I'll try to remember to take a photo tonight and add it to this post. I have the small tree, that's shown in the May Arts post, next to it and it looks really cool.
Well..that's it for now. I have another project coming up this week with Scor-pal and Fancy Pants (it will be posted this Wednesday the 19th)..it's another holiday project so be sure to come back and check it out. I'll have a sneek peek for you later today in another post : )

CAS-ual Fridays CFC82:Even The Score
Hey everyone...welcome back for another scrappy post. Today I'll be sharing a card I made for the current challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays. I'm on the DT for Scor-pal and they're sponsoring the challenge for this week so we were invited to create a card within their theme..Even The Score. I jumped at the chance to do this as I love this challenge blog and I use my Scor-pal all the time so it was a no brainer for me : )
First let me show you my card then I'll show you how I used my Scor-pal .......
To create the diamond pattern..I took a 6 x 6 piece of vellum and placed it on my Scor-pal on the diagonal and made a score mark every 1/2"
Rotate your vellum...place it on the diagonal and resume with the 1/2" score marks...
When your all done your vellum will look like this....
Next I used my Scor-pal to create the fold for my card...
Now that the basics for the card have been created..the fun & creativity begins : )
I added some tiny sparkle bling to accentuate the diamond pattern.
I used a left over strip of the scored vellum for the inside...just to tie it in to the front.
And one last look...
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my scored & sparkly holiday card : )
Be sure to head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see some inspiration from their DT and to see the FAB prizes being offered up by Scor-pal. You'll want to head into your creative space and start working on your card for this challenge.
Happy Craftin!!

Kaley's Fall Treat Box
Hey everyone...today I have another awesome project from my beautiful daughter, Kaley. Steve's family has this tradition where we all draw names in October and whoever we draw is the person we pray for throughout the month & we either make or buy that person a gift and give it to them on Thanksgiving when the family gets together. This year Kaley drew one of my sister's-in-law (I have 4) and she made her this Fall Treat Box, and I must say she did this 100% on her own without a template, die or anything...proud momma :)
Here she is proudly holding her creation : )
She's holding down the notecard she made...love the button with the twine.
She had fun digging through my flowers finding some that would match and when she like the shape of some but they were just white..guess what she did...yup..she inked them : )
She did an amazing job with this project and I'm really proud of her. She made a box similiar to this for me this past Mother's Day. I have it work on my desk and I love it!! Makes me so happy that my daughter loves to craft like I do and it is wonderful mom/daughter time when we work in my craft room together.
Thanks for checking out another scrappy post...happy craftin!!

3 Girl Jam Sparkly Holiday Gift Bags
Hey everyone...today I have a super fun holiday project to share with all of you using some of the FAB Crinkle Ribbon from 3 Girl Jam.
I figured since the holidays are fast approaching, it would be a good idea to get some of my holiday projects crossed off my list.
I used some mini paper bags from my local hardware store...painted them with some craft paint & added some glitter (I did want to note that I sprayed a clear coat over the bags so the glitter wouldn't come off)...
I used the Tim Holtz Winter Wonderland dies for my ornament images. I then added some Scor-Tape and then started layering some of the Goblin Green, Holly Berry & Sunflower crinkle ribbon.
I wanted the top of the gift bag to have a more completed look so I took more of the Sunflower crinkle ribbon & added it along the top edge...
The first pic after they were completed...
I love how dimensional your projects look when you use the 3 Girl Jam crinkle ribbon
Be sure to check out my post for this project over at the 3 Girl Jam blog.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out another scrappy post. I also want to thank everyone for the really kind comments I've been getting. They really make my day and I truly appreciate them : )
If you don't get a chance to visit my blog before Thursday...Happy Thanksgiving!!

Scor-Pal & The Play Date Cafe...what a FAB combo!
Hey everyone..wow what an exciting post I have for you today : ) Scor-Pal is teaming up with The Play Date Cafe this week and I am beyond excited to "play along" this week. A few of us on the Scor-Pal DT created some projects using Scor-Pal products that went along with the color pallette at PDCC.
First let me show you what I came up with then I'll share the color story for the challenge.......
Love these colors....I was inspired right away when I saw them.
Next up are some photos of the completed project and then I'll have some photos at the end that show you how I created this mixed media wall art.
Cute flower made from some yummy 3 Girl Jam Crinkle Ribbon
I made this sparkly beauty with Scor-Tape...I'll show you how in just a moment.
Now for some photos of the creative process for this project : )
I started by painting over this metal wall art piece I picked up at a craft store.
Once the paint was dry I adhered some burlap strips using some Studio Matte Medium & Scor-Tape.
While the burlap & Matte Medium was drying I went to work on my sparkly chipboard embelishment. I used the TH Ornamental die for this. After I ran it through my Vagabond I covered the entire piece Scor-Tape...
Once you peel the backing off the Scor-Tape your left with some sticky goodness...
Next I sprinkled some chunky pink vintage glitter all over the chipboard...
I pressed it into the Scor-Tape just to make sure it was a nice even layer...
Voila!!!
The next few photos show how I made a floral embelishment with more chipboard, Scor-Tape & some yarn...
Such a fun & easy way to create your own embelishments!! For the rest of the project I used a variety of chipboard letters, paint, die-cuts, twine & various papers.
I totally had a ball creating this mixed media wall art and I am really excited to give this to my friend...who doesn't know she's getting it..hee hee. She reads my blog so I had to bring it to work today so I could give it to her before she saw this post : )
Be sure to check out all of the other FAB projects created by my fellow Scor-Pal DT sisters & the DT from the Play Date Cafe HERE. There are some amazing prizes up for grabs and you get two...yes two weeks to come up with your creative entry for this challenge!!
Be sure to come back for another scrappy post & happy scrappin : )
