Friendship Tag with 3 Girl Jam Crinkle Ribbon

Hey everyone..welcome back for another scrappy post : )

Today I'll be sharing with you a tag I made for a friend of mine (which is also featured today over at 3 Girl Jam)....I won't say who it's for since I haven't given it to them yet ; )

I used some of the yummy Aqua Splash and Tuxedo crinkle ribbon on this tag. I love how well it goes with the extra CS I had and the paper rosette.

Added some black bling along the top & topped of the tag with the crinkle ribbon in both the Aqua Splash & Tuxedo.

Awesome vintage stamp from Hero Arts. The sentiment is a rub-on from DCWV.

Love the paper rosette from the Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue collection and how well it goes with the crinkle ribbon that I looped behind the rosette.

Wrapped the bottom of the craft tag with some Tuxedo.

This was such a fun, quick and easy tag to create and I can't wait to give this to my friend who has no idea they are getting this from me..hee hee.

Be sure to come back for another scrappy post...I've got lots of great projects and tutorials lined up.

Happy Scrappin!!

Buttons Buttons...Who Has The Buttons...I Do : )

Hey everyone...I have such a cool post to share with you all today. It's not an actual scrappy project BUT it's all about some vintage items that I will be using on some upcoming projects.

This post will be a walk down memory lane for me as what I am about to share with you is something from my childhood............

I remember as a little girl sitting at the kitchen table running my fingers through all of the buttons in this tin while my mom was working on a sewing project. I remember the smell of all those buttons and bits of thread that were in the tin & when my mom brought the tin to me and I took the lid off...I seriously felt like I was 9 again when the same smell of buttons hit me. Now you might be thinking I am totally weird or thinking what in the world does an old tin of buttons smell like...but let me tell you...it's a lovely scent & a memory from my childhood.

I had asked my mom a few years back about this tin of buttons. She wasn't sure exactly where they were so she told me when she came across them, the tin was mine....squeal!!!

I was beside myself when she called me last week and said she finally found the tin and would bring them over the very next day. Let me tell you I couldn't wait!!

Just look at all those lovely buttons!!

There are a ton of these buttons still on their original cards. Just look at the one in the front with the little girl on....so cool! You just don't find things like this in the stores anymore.

The next set of photos are of some buttons Kaley & I pulled out that we thought were just awesome and so unique....

Check out those penny buttons...I mean how cool are those??? I've never seen buttons like that before.

Love how the brass buttons have turned green..most times I'm distressing stuff to look like that & there's the real deal : )

These pictures are so precious to me as I now have a record of Kaley digging through the very same tin of buttons that I did when I was her age and even younger. Even though my mom doesn't have photos of me I have the memories & the pictures of those days will never fade for me. Even though I'm only 39, I truly love vintage items and treasure them, especially the ones from my mom.

Some of these buttons I won't use... I plan to just keep them stored in some old jars etc so I can see them while I'm creating and some I will use on projects. I would love to be able to pass this tin of buttons on down to Kaley when she is older as my mom did for me.

Thanks for letting me share a memory from my past and a tin full of items that mean so much to me.

Happy Scrappin!!

She Loved Them!!!

Hey everyone...I have some super cute photos to share with you today. My daughter Kaley turned 13 on September 17th and I made her some scrappy items as some of her birthday gifts.

Here she is with the "ScrappinAbby's" version of a smash journal. I posted about this HERE in case you missed that post and video I made. Her favorite colors are black, hot pink and a little bit of green. You can check out all of the pages & fun stuff I put in there for her at the original post.

I couldn't really wrap the Trio Of Altered Wood Frames since they had stuff hanging off them so Steve had to cover her eyes until I had them laid out in front of her and I was ready with the camera. That's my adorable 17 yr old son Tre' sitting next to her : )

She is such a goofball!! I wonder where she gets that ; )

This is the chalkboard frame I made for her. You can see the full post and video on these projects by clicking the link above.

Here's the dry erase board.....

And the cork board...

She loved all of the items I made for her and thanked me for making her some scrappy items for her room : )

Thanks for stopping by for another scrappy post & for letting me share some photos of my projects I made for Kaley.

Happy Scrappin!!

Ride'm Cowgirl!

Hey everyone...today I have an adorable cowgirl card to share with you and even more adorable photo of my niece to share with you. Emily just turned 5 and had her Cowgirl/Cowboy themed birthday party over the weekend.

First let me show you the card I designed for Miss Emily....

And now the beautiful little girl that inspired this card...
Now keep in mind that I took this pic of the invitation with my phone...she was dressed up so stinkin cute in this pic that I just had to use it!!

I thought it would be fun to personalize the card for her so she would feel really special when she opened the envelope. I inked up some white Thickers (that name kinda bugs me as it makes me feel like I'm talking like Daffy Duck...haha). I liked the style of font on these stickers...sorta has that old West look I think.

This was a fun embelli to use. I've had this in my stash for a little while and adding this to her card was the perfect touch.

Here's a closer look...
The cowgirl & horse are this fuzzy texture and there's some pink bling around the edge of the circle.

A little sneaky peek at the inside.....
I cut the width of the front of the card just a bit smaller so you could see the strip of ribbon on the inside when the card was closed.

I seriously enjoyed making this card for Emily...she is such a sweetheart and we love her so very much!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out another scrappy post.

Happy Scrappin!!

Tags In Bags with 3GJ

Hey everyone..welcome back for another scrappy post. Today I'll be sharing a project I made for DT post with 3 Girl Jam.  Tags In Bags!!

I altered some mini paper bags from our local hardware store & made a tag to go into each bag.

Here are the bags before....
 And here they are after....
I used different techniques on each bag...craft paint, Tattered Angels Glimmer paint, masks, dry brush technique and distress inking. I'll be doing a You Tube video later that will go into more detail of the above techniques & I'll do a demo of each one as well.

For this tag I not only used the crinkle ribbon from 3GJ but also some of the vintage buttons & a piece of the canvas border strips.

Here you can see some of the dry brush technique I mentioned earlier. I was so thrilled when I received my bag of 3GJ vintage buttons..they are gorgeous!!

Such a fun & creative way to re-use some mini paper bags & embellish them with some wonderful scrappy products from 3 Girl Jam.

Thanks for stopping by & checking out another scrappy project.
