Smile~Linnie Blooms Style

Hi Friends! Today I have a project to share with you that gives you a peek into a special weekend with my hubby & myself. I created a mixed media layout that uses not one...not two...but three Linnie Bloom products.

I have a short video that shows you the project up close along with the Linnie Bloom items I used...

My hubby and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary on July 19th and we went to the beautiful Oregon Coast for a special weekend. I wanted to create a mixed media layout that I could add to my gallery wall in our living room and the Linnie Blooms goodies I used just added that special touch.

I wanted to recreate the gorgeous sun we saw when I took this photo of us so I used the Bloom Stencil along with some Lindy's spray to create the illusion of a sun in the background...
It might be hard to tell since I have scrap paper covering the cardstock but this is in the upper right hand corner of the page...love how this turned out : )

I wanted use the Canvas Picket Fence and I knew right away how I wanted to incorporate this on my layout. Since we were on the beach, I wanted to make this fence look like it had been exposed to the sun and sand a bit so I used a couple of Lindy's sprays and a stencil to make it look weathered a little bit...

I was SO excited to get the chance to use one of the new stamp sets that are coming to Linnie Blooms soon. Linda has designed some stamps that tie in with the Mixed Stitch concept she has and I love how it added that special touch to my project....

Ready for some photos of the completed layout???

This was such a fun layout to create and I love how the Linnie Blooms products I used really added to the look I was going for.

Be sure to head to the Linnie Blooms SHOP and pick up some of these FAB goodies to use in your crafting projects.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project.

Happy Crafting : )

Friendship Mixed Media Tag

Hi Friends. Today I'm back with another Linnie Blooms creation to share with all of you : )
I created a friendship tag using the bird canvas piece that I'm giving to a very good friend of mine....

I also have a video that shows you the project up close along with a tutorial on how I achieved the texture on the bird canvas piece...

I knew I wanted to use a stencil to create the background so I could create a base that I could build on....
For added texture...I used some Crackle Accents on the colored parts of the stenciling...here's a before photo...
And this is how it looked once it was dry...
I used a paintbrush and dipped it into my Lindy's spray so i could add more of the Tiffany Lou Blue to the edges of the canvas bird...
Once this was dry...I added some Creme Brulee Cream Lindy's spray and some gold paint by Smooch. This really added some extra texture and dimension to the canvas bird and I LOVE how it turned out...
Don't toss your scraps leftover from another project...I was able to use the last bit of the Linnie Blooms Burlap piece as additional texture and background for the tag :)
I am lovin how this tag turned out. You can create so many layers and textures with the canvas pieces from Linnie Blooms and they turn into a piece of art.

Be sure to head to the Linnie Blooms Store and grab some of the canvas pieces & burlap so you can create your own piece or art.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project. I hope I was able to inspire you to create something fun with the Linnie Blooms canvas pieces & burlap.

Happy Crafting : )

My Create*Craft*Share You Tube Hop Project & Video

Hi Friends! Yesterday we had the Create*Craft*Share You Tube hop and I wanted to share some photos of my project along with the videos I made. I hope you all joined in on the hop but if you didn't, you can start at the beginning HERE and see all of the FAB projects from all the participants.

For my project I made a mixed media canvas that is going on the wall in my living room....

Here's the YT Hop video....
 And here's the process/tutorial video....
Our theme for this months project was to create something showcasing our word of the year or a word/phrase that means something to us. I did a video earlier this year explaining why I chose the word "Gratitude" but I also want to use the word Blessed. You can see the video HERE which explains the story behind my word(s) for this year.

I asked for family photos for Mother's Day this year so I was really excited to use some of those photos for this project...

I had a ton of fun using different sprays on the banana leaf paper (I mention/show this in the video) and I love how it looks like aged thin wood on the canvas.

I am truly blessed to be the mom of these two amazing kids and wife to my hubby. I so proud to call them my own : )

Leave me a comment if you have any questions on how I created this project or if you liked it.

Thanks for stopping by and for checking out another scrappy post.

Happy Crafting : )

Feel Better Soon Friend~Linnie Blooms DT

Hi Friends! I'm happy to share another Linnie Blooms DT project with all of you.
This time I wanted to play with the Stencils & Masks from Linnie Blooms and I created a card for a good friend of mine who is recovering from surgery....
For this card I used the following stencils & masks....

I also have a video that shows you the card up close along with a tutorial on how I used the stencils & masks for my card....

To start I selected the papers & sprays I wanted to use with the stencils & masks....
The next few photos show you how I used the stencil & mask for the different elements I added to the card....
For the larger flower, I spritzed it with some water, crumpled it up and used my heat tool...
I wanted to add a distressed feel to the butterflies and leaves I made from the card stock and a scrap piece of fabric...
Once all of my pieces were dry and distressed, I just started layering them on the card....
I layered the butterfly stencils that I made on two different types of paper so it would have a layered look. Love how that turned out : )
I love all the layers and textures on this card. Using the stencils & masks with your paper really creates some great dimension I think. It's fun to create your own embellishments for your projects and using the Linnie Bloom stencils makes it easy to do that.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project. I gave this card to my friend yesterday and she loved it!

Be sure to stop by the Linnie Blooms BLOG today and see the post over there as well.

Mother's Day Cards

Hi Friends! Today I'm sharing the two cards I made for my own mom and for my Mother-in-law. I had to wait a few days to post this since we were hand delivering the cards and I wanted to make sure they saw them first in person before I posted them online (yes my mommy does follow my blog...lol).

I also made a video for each one showing you some of the goodies I used along with a short tutorial in the one for my MIL....

First let me share the card I made for my mom : )
Now for my Mother-in-law's.....

It was a lot of fun designing and creating these cards for two very special ladies in my life. I am truly grateful for my mom, she to this day continues to support and do for my family along with my other 5 siblings and their families. My MIL is also an amazing woman. She raised 5 boys who are all amazing Godly men who truly cherish and value their wives and families. I am truly blessed to have Steve as my husband and I thank Myrna SO much for raising such a kind and giving man who loves me and my two kids unconditionally.

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day and if you created something special for your mom or you just want to share what you received, please leave me a comment with a link to your post or YT video as I would love to check it out.
