May Arts Round 2 Project:Shabby Chic Ribbon Chandelier
Hi Friends! I was over the moon excited when I saw my name in the LIST of those who made it to Round Two of the May Arts 2013-14 Design Team Call. I pretty much knew exactly what I wanted to create with the May Arts ribbon for this project...a shabby chic ribbon chandelier. I love chandys and have been looking for the perfect vintage chandelier to put in my craft room so I decided to create one from ribbon in colors I love to hang in my creative space.
Since I applied for the May Arts DT Video Tutorial position, I have a video tutorial for you that shows you how I created this chandelier along with some footage of the project before I started and of the completed project....
Here are some additional photos of the completed chandelier : )
The base of the chandelier is a vintage wire hanging basket. In the video tutorial I show you how I tied the ribbons to the basket and added some decorative baubles along with the trims. Everything you see on the chandelier is from May Arts with the exception of the baubles which are hung with fishing line (that I may or may not have taken from my hubby's tackle box..lol).
Here are a couple of photos of the chandelier hanging in my craft room in it's new home...
I really love how this chandelier turned out and the May Arts ribbons are just gorgeous and really make this chandy so beautiful & shabby chic looking...which is just what I love : )
Be sure to check out the May Arts blog as Bethney will be posting the projects from all of crafters who made it to the 2nd round. I can't wait to see the projects from the group of creative ladies on the list.
She's making the 2013-14 Design Team announcement on July 29th so be sure to check back for that exciting post. Please keep your fingers & toes crossed for me as I would LOVE to be a Prima Ribbonista and get the opportunity to play with the gorgeous ribbons and trims May Arts has to offer.
Thanks for checking out another scrappy post and happy craftin!!

May Arts Ribbon DT Call 2013
Hi Friends! Boy do I have an exciting post for all of you today. I have been waiting since last year for the May Arts DT Call to come around and it's here...squeal!! Be prepared for lots of photos..this is your warning lol : )
I have 5 projects to share with you today, two I created specifically for this DT Call and the other three you have seen on my blog within the past few months. Here's a photo of all the projects I'm sharing with you today...if you look real close you'll see my baby girl Bella sunbathing : )
Per the DT Call guidelines I do have a tutorial for you in the form of a video. I share with with you how I created the flowers I made using some May Arts trim for my CREATE banner. I also have a short video that shows you each of the projects up close. I wanted to focus more on the photos in this post so in the video I walk you through each of the projects and explain my use of ribbon for each one :)
I want to share with you a project that has been in my mind for a very long time. In addition to crafting, I love to bake and decorate cakes so I thought why not transfer this into paper crafting..so I did...(watch for a surprise with the cake)
I made this topsy turvy cake from scratch using nothing but some 12x12 corrugated card stock (I designed the template for this & cut it out by hand), ribbons/trims, flowers and some bling. I LOVE how this turned out : )
Ready for the surprise???
There's a mini inside : )
For my next project I made a CREATE banner for my craft room...
I'm so pleased with how this banner turned out and I can't wait to hang it in my craft room.
Next up are some projects that I have featured on my blog before but wanted to share them with you for this DT call and I really feel they show some creative ways to use ribbon...
Grunge Chic Paper Cones...
Shabby Topiary...

I hope you enjoyed my list of projects that I'm sharing with you today. I know there were a ton of photos and I appreciate you sticking with me : )
I have to say that my favorite project is the topsy turvy cake and mini. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out. I've had this idea in my mind for quite some time so what better time to bring it to life than for the May Arts DT Call : )
To Bethney the Ribbon Lady....THANK YOU so much for taking the time to review my projects and videos. I had an absolute blast creating these projects for your DT Call, especially the cake.
Happy Craftin : )
