Hi Friends! As a DT member with Linnie Blooms it's my turn to join in on this month's challenge "Create a project using a quote". Technically we're supposed to use our favorite quote but I really don't have a favorite...I have a lot that I really turn to depending on the mood or situation I'm going through. So the one I'm sharing today is more of a positive/gratitude quote.
I created an art display piece that I already have displayed in my craft room...
I also have a short video that shows you the project up close along with the products I used...
I altered a wood block using a combination of various craft paints...I wanted to match the green in the fabric I was using for the project...
While I was waiting for the block to dry, I started working on the butterfly canvas die. I am LOVING the new mixed stitch stamps Linda Barutha has designed so I wanted to incorporate them in my project...
For the rest of the project I just used some sprays and crackle paint on the wood block and fabric to give it that shabby chic feel that I love so much and then I added the other elements...
This was such a fun and easy project to create using the fabulous canvas pieces and stamps from Linnie Blooms. This would be a great gift for any occasion. Be sure to stop by the Linnie Blooms STORE and pick up some of the fun products so you can use them on your crafting projects. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project. Happy Crafting!!
Hi Friends! Today I'm sharing another project that's part of my Crafty Organization series I've been working on. I was given some wood boxes by someone who thought I could use them in my craft room. After "scrappin" them up...here is what I now use to store some of my packaged paper flowers....
This is what they looked like before (minus the slots on the inside)....
Here's a video that shows you the items I used to create these lovely boxes along with how I have them stored in my craft room....
Before I put the designer paper on the boxes, I put a coat of Gesso on the edges, base and top of each box to hide some of the darker wood grain. I then used some craft paint over the top of the Gesso'd areas. Next I added the papers after inking the edges, wrapped some Maya Road trim around the boxes and put some pretty purple flowers & trims on the front. I did do some light sanding on the boxes as well to create that shabby chic look I love so much.
I really love how these turned out and they are the perfect addition to my flower storage solution.
Thanks for stopping by and for checking out another ScrappinAbby post.
Happy Crafting : )

Hi Friends! I am so excited to be sharing another fun project with all of you using some of the yummy 3GJ Crinkle Ribbon and the new Lace Bundles that are now available at the 3GJ Store . This is my first 3GJ post/project in two months, I've been recovering from hand surgery (both hands) and I was so excited to play with the new yummy laces Julie has created. I used it to decorate the spine in my altered mini journal...
I also have a short video that shows you the journal up close along with the crinkle ribbons and laces I used on the project....
Here are some additional photos of the journal...
I love how this gorgeous lace looks against the script on this journal. There are so many uses for the new laces in your craft projects.
Such a fun project to create. I made this for my "work mom" as she helped with a lot of my tasks at work while I was out on medical leave so I wanted to make something special for her. Using the new laces really added that special touch to this journal and I can't wait to give it to her. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project. Be sure to stop by the 3 Girl JAM store and pick up some of the yummy new laces and other goodies available for yourself. Happy Crafting : )
Hi Friends! Wow I didn't realize it's been over a week since my last post..yikes!! I've been super busy with work, the school year is winding down, end of the year stuff with my kids and we're getting ready for a huge garage sale this Saturday. I've been busy with some DT projects and a mini swap I'm doing with a fellow crafting friend on YouTube who lives in Belgium...but more on that in another post : )
I've been doing lots of videos on my YouTube Channel and today's post is all about some handmade flowers my daughter and I did together.
Didn't Kaley do an amazing job on her pink flower? I love it!!
Kaley and I did a video together on making the crepe paper flowers, her's is the large pink one we did during the tutorial and my two are the purple w/lace & the white one.
I had a blast doing this with her...she loves to craft and is so very creative so it was fun sharing this passion I have for crafting with her : )
Here are some additional photos of the lace & ribbon flowers I made....
Here's the video on how I created the above flowers....
There are some great companies who put out gorgeous flowers but I think it's so cool when you make your own. You can customize them to your colors, size, materials for whatever project you may be working on. The bonus for me doing these was working with my daughter & spending some time with her which is so very precious to me.
Thanks for checking out another scrappy post. Be sure to check back as I have some super exciting projects to share with all of you that have been in the works but I couldn't share just yet : )
