Celebrating Earth Day with Made Especially For You!

Happy Monday my creative friends. Today we are celebrating Earth Day over at Made Especially For You. I have to tell you that I am in LOVE with the card I made for this weeks challenge.

We were asked to create a card for Earth Day by using something recycled on our cards. Let me show you my card & let's see if you can guess the two recycled items I used : )

Can you tell? Well one ispretty obvious but I stumped a few people at work/home with what the "flower box" was made of. It's a recycled toilet paper roll tube! I use these for mini albums..I will do a post about that later.

I used some corrugated cardboard from the recycle pile at work for the backdrop on this card. I inked it up a bit with some Walnut Stain & tore the edges.

Ok up next is my FAVE part of this card....
I seriously love how this turned out. I was digging through my recycling scrappy items and this idea just popped into my head to use the TP roll as a window box.

I picked these silk flowers up from a local store in town and they fit perfectly!

Here's a peek at the inside and a side view of the TP window box.

Small cluster of flowers to pull the front to the inside.

And one last look at my recycled card for Earth Day....

This was a great challenge as I think it's important to recycle anyway but to incorporate items that would normally get tossed into your scrappy projects is a FAB idea & your projects turn out so unique & different.

Our sponsor for this week is Jessica at Jessica's Craft Shaque

The winner of this weeks challenge will receive a set of decorative corsage pins. Be sure to stop by Jessica's blog and show her some love for offering up a great prize.

Make sure you head on over to the Made Especially For You challenge blog so you can check out all of the other Earth Day cards by my fellow DT members. You will also see all of the details surrounding this weeks challenge.

Thanks again for stopping by my blog today...I see that I have two new followers from my last post...YAHOO!!!. I know there are tons of scrappy/craft blogs out there and I really appreciate each of you who come back each day to check out what I've been up to.

My one year blog anniversary is coming up in June and I have a huge giveaway planned to celebrate this mile marker for me. I'll be sure to post all of the details surrounding that in the next couple of weeks.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for another scrappy post.
