They're Here...They're Here!!!

Hey Everyone...I am super excited!! My tags from the 2012 Tag Swap with Laura at Following The Paper Trail arrived yesterday. I have been anxiously awaiting these for a couple of months now & the tags are just beautiful. You can read all about the tag swap and see the tags I made HERE.

Squeal!!! I couldn't wait to open up this package and check out the tags I received : )
Wow!! I am truly blown away by the GORGEOUS tags I received...seriously I love them!! Now keep in mind I took these pics with my phone...I was too excited to run downstairs and grab the real camera..lol.
First let me say that I really do love this tag BUT I have a true phobia of spiders and there's a spider like bling on this tag...eek!! If you click on the picture you can see it better. So no offense to the creative lady who crafted this beautiful tag...but I'm gonna have to "hide" the spider bling so I don't freak out when I look at it..lol.
Love the frame on this one..super cute!!
Lovin the bling!!

Great idea adding the mini envelope to this tag..this allows you to tuck in a quick note or something.
Sweet flower cluster..love that!
Happy to see one of the tags was purple : )
Simply BEAUTIFUL tag...I have this TH die & I love it!!. This tag also came with the super adorable mini envelope you see to the right and the note card directly below it.
The paper lace border is sweet & the butterflies are so pretty.
I couldn't be happier with the tags I received. This was my first ever tag swap and I have to tell you I picked a FAB one to be a part of. I can't wait for the next one : )

PSC38:Here Comes The Sun

Hey everyone...welcome back for another FAB challenge with The Perfect Sentiment. I live in Oregon and right now as I'm looking out my window I see nothin but rain...sigh. So this week's challenge couldn't have come at a better time for me...Here Comes The Sun!! Hey...if I don't actually have sun where I live...I can at least create a card with some sunshine on it right?? *It was raining the day I typed up this post but now I see nothin but sunshine :-)

So your challenge for this week is to create a card with a sunny sentiment (you are my sunshine, you light up my life etc.) and for the twist-because you know we always have one..lol-is to include an image of the sun on your card.

Here's my card for this week's challenge.....
This week's challenge was slightly...well a challenge for me as I typically don't craft/create with mostly yellow colors. I don't even wear yellow...lol. But I really do like how this one turned out.
If you follow my blog reguarly you know that I am a Tim Holtz junkie so I was happy to finally use one of his texture fades. This one...appropriately named "Rays" fits in perfect for this challenge. I inked the embossed image with some Sunflower from Close To My Heart.
I really love this sentiment...it has such a positive note to it. Ok this is sorta off topic but have you ever watched the movie "The Miracle Worker" with Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft? I have..many times...I love classic movies. Anyway I kept thinking of this movie while making this card since Patty Duke plays Helen Keller...it's a wonderful inspirational movie so check it out if you haven't already. Ok...jumping back on the crafty train...

I wanted to carry the sunshine ray theme/feel into the inside...
Here's a better shot of the "sunshine" bling...

Birthday Wishes.....

Hey everyone...sorry I haven't posted in a few days. It's been kinda crazy at the Henderson House lately. My son, Tre' started his first job last week...I'll share a pic of him towards the end of the post. My niece turned 30 this past weekend so we went to her super FUN birthday party. Which brings me to post for today...I wanted to share with you a card I made for her.

I used DCWV's Chateau Lavender paper stack for this card...I LOVE this stack!!
I stamped the sentiment on a Kraft tag I tea stained & then blended a couple different TH Distress Inks to make it look like it came with the Chateau Lavender collection. The crinkle ribbon from May Arts goes so well with this card..love it.

Here I used some Prima floral lace trim around the tag. I secured a fabric flower from Mon Ami Gabby (I have to tell you that I found this amazing company at the CK Convention earlier this year and I am a HUGE fan of their products) and then used a garment pin to secure it along with some twine to the lace trim.

I fell in love with this card and almost didn't want to give it away...lol : )

Now for a pic of my son Tre'....
Such a handsome young man don't ya think??? This was taken the day he was "officially" hired : )

Ok so here's another random photo...this was taken at my niece's birthday party....
This picture just cracks me up...she had a photo booth set up at her party & it was a HUGE hit. Yes..that's Mr.ScrappinAbby ; )

PSC37:For The Graduate

Welcome back my creative friends for another super fun challenge with The Perfect Sentiment.

Since I am pretty sure we all know at least one person graduating this year, whether it be from high school, college or even a grade school promotion..this week's challenge comes at the perfect time. You are challenged to use a sentiment appropriate for a graduate...BUT..the twist (which I totally love) is to create a gift card or money holder instead of a traditional card...love it!!

Here's my take on this week's challenge......
I absolutely love creating projects like this...now don't get me wrong..I enjoy making cards...I just like to mix it up once and awhile too : ) I created this gift card holder using a recycled manilla file folder, vintage library card checkout sleeve & card and a portion of a bottom pocket folder. I'll explain each piece as we go along.
I cut the manilla file folder down to the size I wanted..inked the edges and added some Composition paper by Rusty Pickle. The file clip is topped off with some yummy twine from The Twinery. I didn't really notice this until I was taking pics but they almost resemble the tassle from the graduation cap huh?
I used some Tim Holtz alcohol inks on an ordinary paper clip to give it that vintage feel and added it to the sentiment which I mounted onto a piece of chipboard.
Here you can see the "shine" from the library card sleeve. I attached the GC to the vintage library book checkout card...adhered it to some chipboard for strenght and slipped it into the sleeve. You can easily pull the GC out by using the file clip.
I "borrowed" my daughter's GC for this project. She was worried I was actually giving it to someone...lol. I used the business card section from the bottom pocket folder..I just cut out the portion I needed for this project.
I stamped this ruler on some plain cotton ribbon I had in my stash. I thought it gave this a "scholary" look : )
Ok I just had to share this one with you...now you can see my super high-tech props I use for my photo shoots...presenting Mr. Garlic....lol : )
