Hey everyone...welcome back for another challenge with The Perfect Sentiment!!
What a fun challenge we have in store for you this week...your creative task is to create a card with a sentiment of missing you (make sure your sentiment is on the front of the card) & the twist is to use something with wings on your card. This winged element can be something on the card stock you choose, your embellishment or in my case...actual wings : )
At first I had an idea in my head but I wasn't quite sure how to pull it off so I thought to myself...ah..I'll just "wing" it...haha..ok so that was a pretty lame joke but seriously here's my card for this week's challenge......
Ok..I have confession to make...I've been hoarding these wings..yes hoarding them. I picked these feathery beauties up at the Creating Keepsakes convention earlier this year and I LOVE them!! They are just so vintagy/shabby chic looking to me which is something I adore. But I knew they would work perfectly for this week's challenge.
See what I mean????
The black bling just really pops off the page against the muted toned CS...which I think goes so well with the crumpled & distressed patterned paper I used for the base of this card.
Who doesn't love some Prima matched up with some yummy twine from The Twinery. Don't you just love that yummy textured gold ribbon?
Stamped sentiment in Tim Holtz's Broken China..goes so well with the gold ribbon which is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I'm a member of their Ribbon Of The Month club and this was from the November 2011 assortment (ok so maybe I was hoarding this ribbon as well..haha).
To carry the look from the front to the inside...I cut a circle from the same patterned paper...distressed it and topped it off with a vintage wood button...twine & more of the gold ribbon.
Here's a closer look at the embelli I created...I love mixing vintage with new...such a unique look I think : )
Now are you ready for some inspiration from my fellow DT members....

The Play Date Cafe PDCC141:Live Laugh Love
Hey everyone...I'm super excited to share another creation I've come up with for the weekly challenge at The Play Date Cafe. It's always exciting to see what color story the PDC DT comes up with.
First my card...then I'll share the color story with you...........
And now for the color story that inspired this project.........
For me it wasn't only the colors that inspired this card but the books pictured as well. I wanted to create something that played off that stack of vintage books. So I took an old office file folder & cut it down to the card size you see here...
I creased where the bottom portion of the folder was already scored & sealed it with some adhesive. This formed a "book" sort of opening to the front of the card.
I love using vintage items in my projects so I used an old library checkout card & plastic sleeve on the front to hold my sentiment. You can easily pull the library card tag out & slip in a gift card or a personalized note on the backside if you wanted.
Here's a closer view of the plastic checkout sleeve I used to hold the library checkout card. I like how this can not only be used as a sleeve but that it's clear so you can see the yummy twine from The Twinery!
Here you can see the "book" opening I mentioned above. I didn't want to just use the folder as it was....it's more interesting this way I think : )
Doesn't everything look better with twine???
Thanks for stopping by & don't forget to come back for another scrappy post. I'll be showing you a LO my daughter Kaley designed & created all on her own..proud momma moment..haha.
Happy Scrappin!!

Love this crocheted soft pink flower & the soft turqouise resin flower just fits perfectly!

PSC41:Anything Goes-Altered Frame
*To check out my post on the 2012 Where Bloggers Create...click HERE*
It's Wednesday so that means it's time for another FAB challenge with The Perfect Sentiment! I LOVE it when the "Anthing Goes" challenge rolls around and that's what it's all about this week.
I have this old frame I picked up on one of my junkin trips...you know the kind..oval with some scrolly stuff that is plastic painted in a 1970's gold. Well I grabbed it because I knew what it could become once it entered my craft room : )
I was pretty happy with how this turned out. I simply spray painted the frame..measured some corkboard to fit & scrapped it up :)
I had some leftover scraps of corkboard that I didn't want to toss so I thought hey..why not use them for my sentiments.
Simple & sweet butterfly with some bling...
Lovin this butterfly stamp I bought online a few weeks ago. This stamp was my inspiration for this piece.
Flower/ribbon/lace cluster...much love!!
Some lovely twine from The Twinery!!
I already have this hanging in my craft room & it reminds me of what I love to do...create : )
Now for some inspiration from the PSDT.....

PSC38:Here Comes The Sun
Hey everyone...welcome back for another FAB challenge with The Perfect Sentiment. I live in Oregon and right now as I'm looking out my window I see nothin but rain...sigh. So this week's challenge couldn't have come at a better time for me...Here Comes The Sun!! Hey...if I don't actually have sun where I live...I can at least create a card with some sunshine on it right?? *It was raining the day I typed up this post but now I see nothin but sunshine :-)
So your challenge for this week is to create a card with a sunny sentiment (you are my sunshine, you light up my life etc.) and for the twist-because you know we always have one..lol-is to include an image of the sun on your card.
Here's my card for this week's challenge.....
This week's challenge was slightly...well a challenge for me as I typically don't craft/create with mostly yellow colors. I don't even wear yellow...lol. But I really do like how this one turned out.
If you follow my blog reguarly you know that I am a Tim Holtz junkie so I was happy to finally use one of his texture fades. This one...appropriately named "Rays" fits in perfect for this challenge. I inked the embossed image with some Sunflower from Close To My Heart.
I really love this sentiment...it has such a positive note to it. Ok this is sorta off topic but have you ever watched the movie "The Miracle Worker" with Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft? I have..many times...I love classic movies. Anyway I kept thinking of this movie while making this card since Patty Duke plays Helen Keller...it's a wonderful inspirational movie so check it out if you haven't already. Ok...jumping back on the crafty train...
I wanted to carry the sunshine ray theme/feel into the inside...
Here's a better shot of the "sunshine" bling...

PSC28:Monochromatic Thoughs Of You Challenge
Happy Wednesday...it's time for another weekly challenge with The Perfect Sentiment.
The challenge this week is to create a monochromatic card with the sentiment that let's someone know you are thinking of them. Now some of you may be scratching your head and asking what do we mean by monochromatic. Well simply put it means variations of shades for one color. I have an example to show you in just a minute..but first let me show you my creation for this challenge...
Now I know you are totally shocked that my card is purple ; ) I can't help it...I am a lover of all things purple.
Now for the example of monochromatic I promised you..(thanks to Miss Sassy)
I used some glimmer mist on the fabric flower...I didn't use too much as i wanted this to be the lighter portion of my purple hues.
Yummy May Arts crinkle ribbon.
And one last look...
