Hi Friends! Yesterday we had the Create*Craft*Share You Tube hop and I wanted to share some photos of my project along with the videos I made. I hope you all joined in on the hop but if you didn't, you can start at the beginning HERE and see all of the FAB projects from all the participants.
For my project I made a mixed media canvas that is going on the wall in my living room....
Here's the YT Hop video....
And here's the process/tutorial video....
Our theme for this months project was to create something showcasing our word of the year or a word/phrase that means something to us. I did a video earlier this year explaining why I chose the word "Gratitude" but I also want to use the word Blessed. You can see the video HERE which explains the story behind my word(s) for this year. I asked for family photos for Mother's Day this year so I was really excited to use some of those photos for this project...
I had a ton of fun using different sprays on the banana leaf paper (I mention/show this in the video) and I love how it looks like aged thin wood on the canvas. I am truly blessed to be the mom of these two amazing kids and wife to my hubby. I so proud to call them my own : ) Leave me a comment if you have any questions on how I created this project or if you liked it. Thanks for stopping by and for checking out another scrappy post. Happy Crafting : )

Hi Friends! I'm happy to share another Linnie Blooms DT project with all of you. This time I wanted to play with the Stencils & Masks from Linnie Blooms and I created a card for a good friend of mine who is recovering from surgery....
For this card I used the following stencils & masks....
I also have a video that shows you the card up close along with a tutorial on how I used the stencils & masks for my card....
To start I selected the papers & sprays I wanted to use with the stencils & masks....
The next few photos show you how I used the stencil & mask for the different elements I added to the card....
For the larger flower, I spritzed it with some water, crumpled it up and used my heat tool...
I wanted to add a distressed feel to the butterflies and leaves I made from the card stock and a scrap piece of fabric...
Once all of my pieces were dry and distressed, I just started layering them on the card....
I layered the butterfly stencils that I made on two different types of paper so it would have a layered look. Love how that turned out : )
I love all the layers and textures on this card. Using the stencils & masks with your paper really creates some great dimension I think. It's fun to create your own embellishments for your projects and using the Linnie Bloom stencils makes it easy to do that. Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for checking out another ScrappinAbby project. I gave this card to my friend yesterday and she loved it! Be sure to stop by the Linnie Blooms BLOG today and see the post over there as well. Happy Crafting!!

Hi Friends. Today I have a fun project to share with all of you that I created for my daughter Kaley. I made her a mini album using some shipping tags and an eye mask for the cover....
I also have a video that shows you the project up close along with how I layered the tags on the inside....
Creating a mini from a Dollar Store eye mask might sound crazy but that's how my brain works sometimes..lol. Kaley loves animal prints and her favorite colors are pink, green and black so when I saw the eye mask I knew right away which 3GJ Crinkle Ribbons I wanted to use on the project. Here are a few photos of the inside....
I think Kaley is going to love this little mini and it will be perfect for her friends to write in and add some small photos of their fun times together. Hopefully you were inspired by my project today to create something crafty from an item that's not your typical crafting item...turning an eye mask into a mini album...who would of thought right? Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for checking out another ScrappinAbby post. Be sure to stop by the 3 Girl JAM Store and pick up some of the FAB Crinkle Ribbon bundles and all the other goodies Julie has available in her store. Remember...use discount code: AH10 to get 10% off your total order. Happy Crafting : )
Hi Friends! Today I'm sharing another project that's part of my Crafty Organization series I've been working on. I was given some wood boxes by someone who thought I could use them in my craft room. After "scrappin" them up...here is what I now use to store some of my packaged paper flowers....
This is what they looked like before (minus the slots on the inside)....
Here's a video that shows you the items I used to create these lovely boxes along with how I have them stored in my craft room....
Before I put the designer paper on the boxes, I put a coat of Gesso on the edges, base and top of each box to hide some of the darker wood grain. I then used some craft paint over the top of the Gesso'd areas. Next I added the papers after inking the edges, wrapped some Maya Road trim around the boxes and put some pretty purple flowers & trims on the front. I did do some light sanding on the boxes as well to create that shabby chic look I love so much.
I really love how these turned out and they are the perfect addition to my flower storage solution.
Thanks for stopping by and for checking out another ScrappinAbby post.
Happy Crafting : )

Hi Friends! Today I'll be sharing with you the way that I store my flowers I use in my crafting. If you've been following me via my blog, my Instagram or my YouTubechannel, you'll know that I've been working on some crafty organization projects lately.
I happened across a video on YouTube by Sybil B , she has a challenge going on called "Help A Girl Out". She's looking for ways to store flowers and the like in her craft room and has reached out to other crafters asking for our help with ideas and suggestions on how we store them in our own craft rooms. So along with my current Crafty Organization I've been working on, I thought this would be a fun challenge to enter.
I also have a video that walks you through my flower storage solution and the reason behind it....
Here are some additional photos....
I love all things vintage and this table was given to me. It's an old paper cutter table that was from an old school that was torn down. I love it!!!. The glass bowls, vases are also vintage.
The two suitcases are vintage as well. The bottom one is leather and has pink satin on the inside. It was given to me and was actually mine when I was a little girl. It still has all of my old Barbies inside. The lighter case was given to me and is also old. The suitcase holding the flowers is from Michaels.
This wicker shelf was a lime green and I painted it purple to match my room. In my other house I used this to hold my TH Dies until I outgrew the shelf. Now it holds my smaller vintage dishes & canning jar for my smaller flowers and leaves.
I've recently shared these 4 altered cans before. They were my first DT Project for Linnie Blooms. You can check out the full post along with a video and tutorial HERE.I have my canvas flowers and leaf pieces from LB stored in here. This way I not only have a cute decorative item for my craft room but I also have a great way to store my canvas pieces.
If you want to join in on Sybil B's challenge, you have until midnight May 20th to enter.
I hope I was able to share with you some creative ways to display & store your flowers in your craft room.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out another scrappy post.
