Perfect Sentiments Challenge Blog Launch & Your First Challenge!!!

Hi Friends...today marks a SUPER exciting day for all of us here on the Perfect Sentiments Challenge Blog DT (PSCB).  

Today is the debut of the Perfect Sentiments Challenge Blog that I have been excitedly posting about for the past week...YAY. This weeks challenge PSCO1 is to make a sympathy card using lace. 

Here is the card that I created for this challenge....

 

I decided to use shades of blue on this card as this is a comforting color to me and I feel that a sympathy card needs to do just that...comfort a person who has just suffered the loss of a loved one. I started off by distressing the edges of some different patterned papers from The Scrap Cake paper line. I then used a die cut from Tim Holtz in my TH Vagabond and ran it through again using a TH embossing sheet. I inked the edges...added some bling and then spritzed some white lace with Mama Sings The Blues from Shimmerz...I thought it just added a nice soft touch to the card. When I came across this quote from Robert Louis Stevenson, I just had to add the blue bird~which I jazzed up with some Stickles~as I thought it really pulled the card together. The ribbon/lace and small pink flowers are from my scrappy stash.
