This weeks challenge is to not only create a friendship inspired card but to create one by using chocolate brown/blues & cream colors. The inspiration picture used was from a gorgeous bedroom bedding set in the above colors which had some striping, solids & buttons. Below is my interpretation of this weeks challenge that I call " Sweet Friend".
I really love how these colors work so well together. I just happened to have the chocolate brown, blue & cream papers in my stash so when I saw this weeks challenge...I already knew which paper drawer to run to : )
I wanted to add some more dimension to the floral design so I used some Glossy Accents on one of the flowers and put a small paper flower & brad on top.
I think the butterflies are just so cute....sort of looks like this one if bursting from inside the card don't you think?
I had a very "sweet friend" give me a small mirror years ago with some butterflies & a sentiment of friendship on it. These butterflies reminded me of that gift from long ago and brought back some wonderful memories of that friendship.
I chose to use this sentiment as I felt it was simple and pretty much describes the person I was thinking of when I designed & created this card.
Here's the inside of the card...I wanted to carry the butterfly theme through into the inside so I added a smaller one to make sure I left plenty of room to write to my "sweet friend".

ReplyDeleteWow! Love your card! I really love the inside. It has such great follow-through from the front, but it's so pretty that it could be on the outside of the card! :) Speaking of the front, I love the dp you used. I also love all the distressing and the birdcage (I'm a birdcage fan! lol). My fav part is the little shabby triangle you made - very creative! Super job!
